Our second stop was Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens. These gardens were beautiful. I love seeing all of the tropical flowers. Tanner loved the huge mango trees. Tanner's goal while visiting the gardens was to find a fresh mango. The only problem is that you have to actually see if fall otherwise you might be getting one that has been sitting there for days. We would hear them fall but it was almost impossible to find them once they did fall. Luckily on our way out, a local man was sitting with a few mangos next to him. We thought that he might be selling them so Tanner asked how much he wanted for the mangos and he told Tanner just to take them. Here is a picture of Tanner standing in front of a mango tree and other pictures of the tropical plants found at the garden.

Our last stop on the way back from Hilo was Akaka Falls. Joe and I had visited these waterfalls three years ago and they were just amazing so we knew that we wanted to visit here again. It looked like there had been a lot of damage due to heavy storms since our last visit but the waterfall was still amazing!

Check out the gas prices in Hawaii!

Later that evening we went to a luau at the Kona Village Resort. Here are some pictures from the luau.

These were all the pictures were able to take of the luau...our camera's battery went dead so Joe wasn't able to get any pictures of the luau hula dancers :(
