This week Joe, Emma and I headed to Dallas for a few days. The Dallas State Fair is taking place and we have been wanting to visit. How is it that I have lived in Texas all of my life and had never been to the Dallas State Fair?? I even lived in Dallas with my parents after graduating high school for a few years!
We arrived in Dallas on Monday and got checked in to our hotel. After dropping off our luggage, we made a trip to the Galleria. We took Emma on her first trip to the American Girl Store. Wow, this place is a little girl's dream! Very overwhelming! After looking at many dolls, Emma found just the right one. We found one that had most of the same features as Emma....blue eyes and long hair. Could not find one with the exact same hair color as Emma but does have the same color as Emma's natural highlights in her hair. Emma LOVES her new doll and has named her Emma. After visiting the American Girl Store, we headed to dinner at Mi Cocina and watched the ice skaters skating in the rink.

On Tuesday, we woke up and caught the Dart train that would take us to the State Fair. Tuesday happened to be Dr. Pepper day. If you brought in an empty (or full) Dr. Pepper can, you could get in for $3.00 a ticket rather than $15.00. It only costs the three of us $12.00 to get in...now that was a deal! Everything else was very expensive at the park!
The State Fair is known for LOTS of fried foods...everything from Fried Frito Pies to Fried Cheesecake. We ventured out and tried two items just to say we tried them. We tried the Fried Beer....which we had to show our id to purchase and we also tried the fried cheesecake. The Fried Beer was YUCKY but the fried cheesecake was delish!
Emma loved seeing all the animals at the fair and especially loved the rides! We all had a great time and can't wait to visit again in the future!
