Memorial Day Weekend

For our Memorial Day weekend, we had plans to travel to Arkansas for an annual family reunion on my mother's side of the family. Plans had to be changed when Emma started feeling bad on Thursday afternoon. Joe and I ended up taking Emma to the after hours clinic Thursday evening since we would be heading out early on Friday. The results were not good....Emma was diagnosed with Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease plus an ear infection! The dr was able to give her an antibiotic but now our trip to Arkansas had to be canceled. There is always next year.

We had also planned on stopping on our way back from Arkansas in Grapevine, Texas and staying at Great Wolf Resort. Emma's fever broke on Friday so we were able to make the trip to Grapevine and were able to stay two days rather than one. Tanner invited a friend to come along with us. On Saturday, we got to Grapevine late afternoon and headed to Grapevine Mills Mall where we meet up with a friend of Joe's, Sands, and his daughter, Allysa. We had dinner at The Rainforest Cafe and the kids enjoyed playing lots of games at Gameworks.

On Saturday, we went to the indoor water park at our resort. This place was packed of children and families. Emma was not too fond of the water park. Let me back up a little.....On Thursday, we went to our 2nd day of swim lessons. I was holding Emma getting into the pool when we first got there, I slipped on the last step and both of us went under. How embarrassing, right? Well that set the tone for swim lesson last week. She was done! She wanted nothing to do with the swimming pool. Now looking back on it, I am hoping that it was because she didn't feel well and not because I dunked her. Hopefully this week will be a much better experience for both of us! Not sure why she wasn't digging the water park?? I say give her a couple more years and she will be all over that water park.

Tanner and his friend had a good time at the water park. Tanner even ran into another friend that lives in our neighborhood and also goes to his school. The boys stayed up late hanging out with friends and girls that they met!
