Paula, Oh Paula!

Yesterday I was so excited because my all time favorite, Paula Deen, was here to do a book signing for her newest cookbook, The Deen Family Cookbook. My sister and I had bought the cookbook in advance so we could just show up and have it signed. HA! We first went to Lupe Tortillas for an early dinner and allowed ourselves plenty of time to get there. The book signing began at 6:00 pm and we pulled into Sam's Club parking lot at 5:45 pm. The line was wrapped around a few times and we ended up waiting in the Texas heat (close to 90 degrees today) for over an hour and only made it halfway through the line before giving up. We decided to leave the line and go into the store just to get a sneak peek and a few pictures but we did not get her signature. So sad that my cookbook didn't get signed and that I didn't get to meet her in person. Just might have to venture to Savannah, Georgia one day and meet her on her own stomping grounds!
